Lovebirds… Part 2…

After rearranging my studio, entertaining a visiting friend for the weekend and drawing, drawing, drawing, I finally found the time to work on the Lovebirds… remember them?

So here’s part two… enjoy : )

Last time you saw the birdies they were being still being dreamed up… Now they are painted with watercolor pencils and cut out and ready to be placed on the piece…

Now the birds are in place along with the heart.  I’ve sewn them onto the watercolor paper with embroidery thread.

The paper is too thick to punch a tapestry needle thru, so I use a paper piercer to punch holes into the paper for easy sewing.

I wrote out the wedding date and names of the two love birds and did a simple back-stitch with embroidery thread.

Voila!  I have more plans for this piece and will share the details later.  Til then… toodles!
