About Me

I’m Rachel Fontenot Crawford, an artist, poet and surface designer who is passionate about color and pattern, poetry, the great outdoors and art history.  I’m forever creating through drawing, painting, collage, sewing, crochet & knitting.  My artwork and patterns are happy, peaceful and full of color as are all the things my happy hands find to create.  I’m a native of the colorful and eclectic city of New Orleans where I currently live with my wonderful hubby of 20+ years marriage.

Rachel, I see your fabric posts all the time on Pinterest, and recognize you as a kindred soul/fabriholic – I thought you’d like this blog, if you aren’t already a devotee – http://www.trueup.net/ Her book is outstanding as well. Regards, Peggy

Have you done fabric design? yardage I mean? I’ve some small projects, but really crave putting out something bigger!

    • Hi Peggy!

I am currently working to get my art on fabric as well as everything else you can print a pattern on! I am enrolled in a class by art licensing agent Lilla Rogers called Make Art That Sells that explores all the avenues of art licensing. See the side bar of this blog to go to Lilla’s website. It may be a something you want to look into.

Another great resource is Pattern Observer. Michelle Fifis runs that blog and it’s all about the surface design world. And she offers wonderful classes in textile design. I have taken 3 of them!

Do you have a website or blog?

I am currently building a new website and blog!

And it’s so nice to meet you!

      Rachel
